H.E. Salem Al Suwaidi, Director General of Ajman Chamber, received H.E. Ndhoma Richard, Acting Head of the South African Consulate, to discuss ways of economic cooperation, increasing trade exchange and investments, and exploring opportunities for cooperation in industry, tourism, education, and other sectors. The meeting, held at the Chamber's headquarters, was attended by Mohammed Ali Al-Janahi, Executive Director of the Member Support Services Sector, Abdullah Abdulmohsen Al-Nuaimi, Director of the Government Communication Department, and Fatima Yaqoub Al-Awadhi, Head of the Investment Attraction Department at Ajman Chamber. The consulate's delegation included Themba Adolphus, Consul of Political Affairs, and Mfu Walter, Consul of Agricultural Affairs at the Consulate. At the beginning of the meeting, His Excellency Salem Al Suwaidi welcomed the attendees and praised the existing bilateral relations between the UAE and South Africa, and the continuous development they are witnessing, especially in the economic sectors and the growth in the trade exchange. He affirmed Ajman Chamber's keenness to enhance cooperation with the business community in the Republic of South Africa, as part of the Chamber's efforts to consolidate international economic relations and build effective partnerships that support the growth of trade and investment exchange. The Ajman Chamber reviewed the components of the economy in the emirate and the most prominent investment opportunities in several vital sectors, including industry, trade, tourism, health care, logistics, technology, the real estate sector, and other sectors. It also highlighted the competitive advantages enjoyed by the emirate, foremost of which is the strategic location, the ease of doing business, the integration of infrastructure, and the availability of an integrated system of supportive services, which enhances the attractiveness of Ajman as an investment destination and provides a stimulating environment for business sustainability and growth. The meeting addressed ways to enhance cooperation in the education sector and to benefit from the Ajman International Education and Training Exhibition as a leading platform for building academic partnerships and exchanging experiences. The two sides discussed opportunities for the participation of universities and educational institutions in the Republic of South Africa in the next session of the exhibition in 2027, in a way that supports the expansion of cooperation horizons and keeps pace with the rapid growth witnessed by the education sector in the Emirate of Ajman. The two sides also discussed opportunities to enhance cooperation in the tourism sector and benefit from the diverse tourism components enjoyed by both countries. The meeting stressed the importance of enhancing cooperation, exchanging economic information and statistics, and organizing specialized forums that bring together business owners and investors from both sides, in a way that contributes to exploring investment opportunities and strengthening economic partnerships. For his part, H.E. Ndhoma Richard stressed the importance of enhancing economic cooperation with the Emirate of Ajman, pointing out that the Republic of South Africa has various economic components, including infrastructure, a diversified industrial sector, and rich natural resources, which have promising prospects for the business community in the Emirate of Ajman to benefit from the investment and commercial opportunities available in various fields. At the end of the meeting, H.E. Salem Al-Suwaidi and H.E. Ndhoma Richard exchanged shields and souvenirs.
