Mou Between Ajman Chamber And “Majra” To Encourage Factories To Adopt Clean Energy Solutions

In the presence of H.E. Abdulla Bin Touq Al Marri, Minister of Economy and Tourism and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Majra, Ajman Chamber and Majra – the National CSR Fund signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to enhance cooperation and advance joint efforts aimed at encouraging private sector establishments in Ajman to adopt clean energy solutions. The MoU was signed by H.E. Salem Al Suwaidi, Director-General of Ajman Chamber, and Sarah Shaw, CEO of Majra - National CSR Fund, during GITEX Global 2025, in the presence of Nasser Al Dhafri, Chairman of the Ajman Sustainable Impact Committee, and Mona Saqr Al Matroushi, Vice Chairperson of the Committee. The MoU aims to encourage Ajman Chamber’s members from the industrial sector to adopt clean energy solutions and implement innovative best practices that would strengthen Ajman’s position in this vital sector. The emirate is home to 1,549 industrial establishments as of the end of 2024, supporting the national transition towards sustainability and aligning with the UAE’s strategic direction. On the sidelines of the signing ceremony, Al Suwaidi affirmed the Ajman Chamber’s and the Government of Ajman’s commitment to promoting clean energy adoption and supporting sustainability initiatives within the industrial sector. He emphasized that such efforts help preserve natural resources, enhance resource efficiency, and reduce carbon emissions—contributing to the competitiveness of the industrial sector and supporting the objectives of the UAE Energy Strategy 2050. For his part, Al Dhafri stated that the MoU reflects the efforts of Ajman Chamber and the Ajman Sustainable Impact Committee in advancing the strategic objectives of Ajman Vision 2030, enhancing environmental sustainability by improving energy efficiency, increasing the use of alternative energy sources, promoting sustainable waste management, and reducing pollution.
