H.E. Salem Al Suwaidi, Director General of Ajman Chamber, received H.E. Husin Bagis, Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to the UAE, to explore avenues for enhancing economic and commercial cooperation and fostering investments. The meeting also addressed opportunities for participation in specialized events and exhibitions in both countries. The meeting, held at the Ajman Chamber headquarters, was attended by Mohamed Ali Al Janahi, Executive Director of the Member Support Services Sector, Khalid Al Shamsi, Director of the Information and Economic Studies Department; and Fatima Yaqoob, Head of the Investment Attraction Section at Ajman Chamber. From the Indonesian Embassy, attendees included Stevia Edira Putri, First Secretary for Economic Affairs; Eko Nugroho, Financial Attaché; and Widi Haryono, Director of the Indonesian Trade Promotion Center (ITPC) in Dubai. H.E. Salem Al Suwaidi welcomed the delegation, commending the developing economic relations and the remarkable trade growth between the UAE and Indonesia, which reflects the profound strategic partnership between the two nations. He emphasized that the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement between the two countries opens new horizons for developing mutual trade and investments, paving the way for businesspersons and investors from both nations, thereby contributing to economic growth and expanding cooperation in all sectors of mutual interest. "The Ajman Chamber is keen on developing its external relations, guided by the directives of the wise leadership and in support of the objectives of Ajman Vision 2030, which aims to provide a competitive business environment and an investment climate that drives economic growth and enhances the emirate's foreign trade," Al Suwaidi stated. The Ajman Chamber presented an overview of the key investment opportunities available in the emirate and highlighted the Thara Center for Entrepreneurship's role in providing innovative services and a sustainable business environment that supports entrepreneurs and investors in Ajman. The delegation also received a briefing on the Ajman International Education and Training Exhibition (AETEX), and the Chamber extended an invitation to Indonesian universities to participate in the upcoming edition of the exhibition, which will foster academic cooperation and expand scientific and cultural exchange between both sides. For his part, H.E. Husin Bagis, Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to the UAE, outlined the main components of the Indonesian economy and the promising investment opportunities his country offers across various sectors. He invited the Ajman Chamber and its private sector members to participate in the 40th edition of Trade Expo Indonesia 2025 (TEI), scheduled to take place from October 15 to 19, organized by the Indonesian Ministry of Trade. The meeting concluded with a recommendation to intensify cooperation in the food and beverage sector, particularly given the qualitative capabilities of both countries, as well as to facilitate information exchange and organize bilateral forums. These initiatives aim to provide a platform for businesspersons and investors to foster knowledge sharing and partnerships, thereby boosting trade volume and driving joint investment. At the conclusion of the meeting, H.E. Salem Al Suwaidi and H.E. Husin Bagis exchanged shields and commemorative gifts.
