Ajman Chamber And The Embassy Of Belgium Are Discussing Opportunities To Develop Trade And Investment Exchange

H.E. Abdullah Al Muwaiji, Chairman of the Ajman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI), received H.E. Antoine Delcourt, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Belgium in the UAE. and his accompanying delegation, to discuss prospects for trade cooperation and investment opportunities available to the two countries. The meeting is as part of the Ajman Chamber's efforts to develop a renewed global economic relations network that supports expansion and business development opportunities and promoting the emirate as an ideal destination for investment. The meeting was attended at the Ajman Chamber's headquarters by Mohamed Ali Al Janahi, Executive Director of the Trade Development and International Relations Sector, and Jamila Kajoor, Director of the Promotion and International Relations Department at the Ajman Chamber, and from the Embassy of the Kingdom of Belgium, Yoke Wagemans, Investment and Trade counsellor, and Joren Selleslaghs, counsellor Political Affairs and Deputy Head of Mission. At the outset of the meeting, H.E. Abdullah Al Muwaiji welcomed the attendees, and expressed the interest of the Ajman Chamber in expanding the scope of trade exchange and increasing the values of investments between Ajman and Belgium. He asl stated that the Ajman Chamber is ready to provide supportive capabilities to strengthen economic relations between companies and businesspersons in the two countries and to provide a distinctive investment environment for Belgian business owners. The meeting reviewed the bilateral relations between the two countries in the fields of economy, trade, and investment. Both side exchange views and opportunities for economic cooperation between Ajman and Belgium in the future. They also discussed opportunities for developing relations in many sectors, especially tourism, industry, trade, education, health, and technology. The attendees recommended the importance of holding bilateral meetings between the business communities in both Ajman and Belgium with a view to exchanging experiences and best practices and discussing ways to increase cooperation between private sector establishments, in addition to the necessity of participating in exhibitions and events and intensifying visits in the future. For his part, H.E. Antoine Delcourt praised the economic diversification of the emirate of Ajman and the promising investment opportunities, which will enhance the volume of joint cooperation and trade exchange between the two countries. He also gave the audience an overview of the most important economic sectors in Belgium as well as the main industries. Statistics indicate the depth of economic relations between the UAE and Belgium, as non-oil trade exchange between the two countries amounted to about USD 7 billion in 2021. Belgium is also the 4th trading partner of the UAE within the countries of the European Union (EU), accounting for about 13.4% of non-oil foreign trade. Oil between the UAE and the EU.
