Within the framework of promoting integration and joint cooperation, and believing in the importance of contributing to the achievement of the national innovation strategy, the Ministry of Economy and the Ajman Chamber of Commerce and Industry signed a memorandum of understanding to enhance cooperation in the field of intellectual property protection, patent registration, and the dissemination and promotion of a culture of innovation among segments of society. The memorandum was signed by His Excellency Abdullah Al Saleh, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Economy, and His Excellency Salem Al Suwaidi, Director General of the Ajman Chamber, through the visual communication feature. His Excellency Abdullah Al Saleh stressed the Ministry of Economy's keenness to enhance frameworks of cooperation and integration between federal and local efforts to develop the national economy in a manner that serves the economic policies and the future vision of the country. His Excellency pointed out the importance of this memorandum, which works to support and strengthen the intellectual property protection system in the country, which represents a basic pillar of building a competitive knowledgeable economy based on innovation and creativity led by national competencies, and contributes to improving the innovation environment in the country and enhancing its position as a regional and global destination for innovation, creativity and talents in harmony With the state's orientations and strategic plans for the next 50 years. Al Saleh said, "The importance of this memorandum becomes clear through the creation of a new partnership between the Ministry of Economy and the Ajman Chamber of Commerce and Industry for cooperation and exchange of information and studies on everything related to innovation and intellectual property in the country and their employment in serving the competitiveness of the state in general and the Emirate of Ajman in particular. Through this memorandum we will work to find Effective and rapid mechanisms for exchanging information, experiences and studies, and we will be keen to create an effective framework between the work teams in the ministry and the Ajman Chamber of Commerce and Industry to work jointly and harmoniously to align strategies and develop initiatives and projects that serve the competitiveness of the UAE globally.” For his part, His Excellency Salem Al-Suwaidi stressed the importance of the memorandum of understanding and its role in creating an attractive climate to encourage the business community to adopt innovative projects and rely on artificial intelligence, by linking business owners with inventors and owners of innovative ideas, as well as introducing innovative project owners to how to market their pioneering projects in the Emirate, pointing out that the Ajman Chamber's Development and Innovation Department is relentlessly seeking to provide tools and supportive means to direct the economic sector in the Emirate to benefit from innovations and creative ideas by diversifying the chamber's partnerships with the relevant authorities in this field. The Director General of Ajman Chamber explained that the development of the field of innovation and the increase in patent registration will directly affect the performance of the economic sector in the emirate in particular and the country in general, praising the efforts of the Ministry of Economy to spread the culture of innovation and work to develop the field of intellectual property and patents protection in the country. The memorandum of understanding aims to support the innovation environment, preserve intellectual property rights and patents to protect innovative projects, and encourage various business sectors to support innovators and inventors and adopt innovative projects and ideas and their applications. The memorandum also aims to sponsor initiatives and projects that encourage incubating innovations in the priority scientific and economic fields, in line with the country's orientations to reach the first places in the world in the field of innovation and leadership. The memorandum provided for organizing joint awareness campaigns on patents and intellectual property rights through seminars and specialized events targeting companies and factories members of the Ajman Chamber, and working to develop a joint mechanism to motivate inventors and innovators from students, employees, business owners and entrepreneurs in the Emirate by providing technical and legal support in coordination and cooperation with the competent authorities, in addition to organizing a joint mechanism for holding periodic forums for innovators and inventors in the Emirate to exchange experiences and expertise, organizing a specialized training program in the field of innovation and invention, mechanisms for registering intellectual property rights and patents and the legal aspects related thereto, in addition to establishing a shared database that includes statistics and information related to intellectual property rights, patents, activities and innovative projects in the Emirate.
