A Delegation from Ajman Chamber Visits the Turkish City “Edirne”

A delegation from Ajman Chamber of Commerce and Industry visited the city of Edirne in the republic of Turkey. The delegation was led by Mohammed Al Janahi Assistant Director of Key Services Sector at Ajman Chamber, Sami Al Jallaf Director of Commercial Affairs, and Sultan Khalifa Chairman of the Youth Business Forum. The delegation was received by Mr. Hamdi Sedefςe the Mayor of Edirne.

During the visit both sides discussed ways to attract investors from the emirate of Ajman to invest in the city of Edirne as the city’s mayor expressed his full readiness to cooperate in providing all kinds of support to investors in order to develop relations between the republic of Turkey and the United Arab Emirates.
Later the mayor of Edirne invited the delegation of Ajman chamber to attend the Edirne historical carnival which has been held in the city annually for about 600 years, as the delegation’s visit to Edirne coincided with the celebrations of the carnival.
Then the delegation of Ajman chamber met with Mr. Aleddin Altindiş vice mayor of Edirne Municipality. Mr. Altindiş briefed the delegation on the economic situation in the city as they reviewed the available resources, infrastructure and services in Edirne. In addition Mr. Alaeddin Altindiş gave the delegation a brief overview on the plans of the municipality which aim to promote tourism and investment in the city as well as development projects.
Mohammed Al Janahi assistant director of key services sector at Ajman chamber said that Ajman chamber attaches great importance to the economic sector in the emirate of Ajman and provides all the necessary resources in order to open new markets for the emirate’s exports and imports and develop relations with various countries in the world.
Pointing out that delegations from Ajman chamber had made many visits to a number of chambers of commerce and industry around the world including the Swiss chamber, Turkish chamber and Kurdistan chamber and many others, in order to consolidate ties and relations, and closely review the work of those chambers and benefit from them in a way that promotes the commercial and industrial sectors in Ajman.
Al Janahi stressed that Ajman chamber is keen on strengthening relations with various countries in order to expand the economic relations between the emirate of Ajman and other countries and also to widen prospects of investment opportunities for businessmen.
It is worth mentioning that the city of Edirne with a population of 300 thousand inhabitants is considered Turkey’s gateway to Europe. The city hosts many different carnivals annually and receives 1.5 million tourists every year.
