
Within the strategy to expand the areas of its work and services to the local community organizations, Ajman Chamber of Commerce and Industry took the initiative to develop the marine leisure boats group . This came during a meeting chaired by HE Mohammed Abdullah Al Hamrani, Director General of the Chamber and the meeting was attended by Ahmed Ibrahim Rashid Al Ghumlasi , director of the Al Bum Marine Boat Manufacturing, Abdullah Rashid Ali Al Shamsi, Director Musabah Boats Factory , and Edwin Pampas, director of operations for Gulf Boats Company , and Hamid Abdullah Al Matrooshi, the representative of Al Mahara for boats Parts and Maintenance .
His Excellency Mohamed Al Hamrani at the beginning of the meeting confirmed the importance of the group and its vision and its near and medium-and long-term objectives , stating that the establishment of this group in 2008 came primarily to raise the level of quality, performance and activating the principle of exchange of experiences and skills and to develop integrated plans to ensure the development of these companies and reduce the proportion of risks that may be faced by these companies during the crisis and overcome all the obstacles to the development of problems and obstacles.
Representatives of boat companies presented their views to develop the performance of this group in the light of the new economic factors witnessed by the emirate and by boat building industry in general and also in light of the new services provided by Ajman Chamber for boat companies. They also discussed the obstacles that boat companies face and the related issues of labor and the need for training, rehabilitation and environmental standards and the importance of promoting companies operating in this sector at the local and global realities of raw materials and the limited scope of the activity of these companies. Workers of these companies need to be more safeguards for their rights, whether relating to the fixing of minimum wages and to commit companies for disbursement through banks to bear the expenses of employment in case of cancellation of the contract or the provision of an institute for technical training to rehabilitate and equip them with adequate skills needed to ensure product quality and achieve a kind of security, stability and motivation .
On the other hand, some owners of companies demanded providing lines and stations equipped with modern technologies at affordable prices for ships in the port of Ajman and the provision of raw materials for all stages of production, and pointed out that the sources of imported raw materials in Dubai and Fujairah are still limited. Others expressed the need to allocate places for the work of these companies in the emirate since their absence inhibits the expansion and continuation of acts of hindering the development of its investments.
The group members also addressed the need to educate the factories of the importance of standards in health and environment, safety and its importance in the development of business, while the representatives of Ajman Chamber called for the necessity of such factories and companies to consider operating in the emirate through the application of global health and safety standards, especially those operating near residential areas, in line with the policy of the Emirate of Ajman in the application of the highest international environmental standards and orientation toward a greener economy and environment-friendly. The members concluded the meeting with an agreement to make further efforts to coordinate the work together and participation in foreign exhibitions and rely on the history of the emirate firmly established in the boating industry inventory of factories and the promotion of quality products and competitive advantages.
Muhammad Al Hamrani at the end of the meeting called for the importance of follow-up of the recommendations raised at the meeting , stating that the current era is the era of conglomerates, and joint action and concerted action is the only way for the development and progress to meet all challenges with confidence and efficiency and professionalism. |
