About the Center

Brief on the Center:

Ajman Commercial Conciliation and Arbitration Center was set up under the Ameri Decree No. (6) of 2004 issued by H.H. Sheikh Humaid Bin Rashid Al Nu’aimi , member of the supreme council and ruler of Ajman, under the umbrella of Ajman Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Having been established so, the Center plays a leading role addressing the challenges existing due to the recent crisis, and providing the best and easiest mechanisms towards settling the disputes as per the internationally applicable criteria. 

 Since its establishment, Ajman Commercial Conciliation and Arbitration Center has been playing a major role supporting the commercial activity and protecting the interests of the business community in cooperation with the arbitration centers in the UAE, by providing a clear vision about the challenges of the national laws and legislations and eliminating the difficulties which hinder the commercial activity in the UAE generally and Ajman emirate particularly.

 Vision:

Providing the best mechanisms to settle the disputes as per the international applicable criteria, and eliminating the difficulties of many commercial disputes. 

 Mission:

Promoting the culture of arbitration among legalists and business people through holding  and conducting such training seminars and courses related to commercial disputes.

 Concluding partnerships with the local and international bodies and institutions in order to prepare an elite of UAE national arbitrators knowledgeable and well aware of the latest developments and updates on international arbitration filed.

 Objective:

Providing flexible and unbiased mechanisms to settle and resolve the disputes that could arise between / among commercial parties, easily and cost effectively.

 

Services and Activities of the Center

 Settlement of Disputes:

 Among the services provided by the Center to its individual and corporate clients is the service of settling disputes through mechanism of conciliation and arbitration. The total number of the arbitration applications submitted at the Center during 2010 and 2011 reached about 70 applications where final awards have been ruled on 50% of the same by formed arbitrational panels , while the remaining applications are in process of hearing or being prepared to be presented before such arbitrational panels .

      Qualification and Training

    In addition to the service of settling the disputes, the Center also provides services of qualification and training through a bunch of projects and training programs, courses, and legal lectures and conferences specialized in the field of commercial arbitration and settling the disputes in cooperation with various expertise and competent experts in this field, along with support from its partners including relevant institutions concerned with the field of commercial arbitration and the legal qualification and training.

    Location of the Center

     Temporarily, the center is located on the 12th floor of Ajman Chamber of Commerce and Industry building at Corniche Area opposite to Ruler’s Court. The Center comprises a spacious waiting hall and a closed hall for deliberations equipped with telecommunication and secretariat means and equipment, in addition to a secretariat office on the  4th floor of the Chamber building within the legal affairs office, providing clients and arbitrators at the Center with all such necessary services including typing, photocopying, telecommunication, correspondence, and information.
